Rob Cross makes surprise visit to Tunbridge Wells pub.

Darts world champion Rob Cross popped into a Tunbridge Wells pub on the back of his shock victory last week.

The 27-year-old former electrician has been hailed after beating 16-time world champion Phil Taylor 7-2 in the Power's last ever match before retiring on New Year's Day.

The next day, Mr Cross visited The Bedford in Tunbridge Wells High Street, where he played a few legs.

Rob Cross visited The Bedford to play a few legs.

Speaking after his visit, Mark Nicholson, landlord at the Greene King pub said: "Having watched Rob on TV the night before, the last thing I expected was for him to be in my pub the next day.

“Some of the regulars offered to play him but he was on a tight schedule. It was great to have him in the pub and we’d love to have him back in again if he’s ever in Tunbridge Wells.”

Pembury-born Cross started playing local league darts aged 15.
