Heath Lane Dartford
I believe the pub was somewhere along the Heath Lane and closed some time between 1881 and 1891. According to A N J Burton it was owned by Thomas Smith and run by his friend Tabitha Reynolds until at her death 1871 by whom he had many children. Thomas Smith was also a brickmaker whose brickworks was on land where Dartford Golf Course is today. He employed 7 men and 2 boys. It was still open as a beerhouse in 1881 but there is no trace of it in 1891 census. See Dartford Map 1905. On the map this was referred to as the Bricklayer's Arms. The building was condemned as unfit for human habitation in 1961, and is now (2023) the site of the Orchard Garage.
