The "Burnt Oak" was an area of Brompton which gave its name to the pub and a row of houses. If the inn sign is accurate, an old oak tree which stood in the area was struck by lightning, which reduced it to a black stump.

Closed by 2019 and converted into flats.

Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

All emails are answered.
