Traced back as early as 1686 as the "Three Horseshoes" and changed name some time between 1764 and 1766 to the "Coach and Horses." (Information below from Brian Brockie, 2017.) This picturesque, grade II listed, 17th century, timber-framed building has seen service as a public house since 1686 and possibly earlier. Until 1766 - it had been known as the "Three Horseshoes." It currently occupies a footprint of numbers 24 & 25 at ‘the Hill’ in Northfleet and is reputedly haunted by the ghosts of serving maids.
