Southeastern Gazette, 5 April 1853.

Wednesday. (Before a full bench of magistrates).

John Scott, keeper of the "Dorset Arms" public-house, Northfleet, was charged with leaving his house open after the hour of eleven on the night, of the 26th ult.

The information was supported by Wiseman, the constable of that district, and the defendant, who pleaded guilty, was fined £1 and costs.

COUNTY PETTY SESSIONS

Mr. Arnold, on behalf of John Scott, next applied for a license for the "Dorset Arms," at Northfleet. Mr. Prall opposed the application on behalf of the owner of the "India Arms" public-house in that neighbourhood.

Application refused.

 

Maidstone Journal and Kentish Advertiser, Tuesday 6 September 1853.

This being the annual licensing day, the following applications for licences to beer-shops were made, but refused.

"Dorset Arms," Northfleet, supported by Mr. Arnold, and opposed by Mr. Prall.

 

James Russell of the West Street Brewery was the owner in 1872.
