The "Farmers" was originally known as the "Sennocke Hotel" and it was here in 1913 that the newly inaugurated Sevenoaks branch of the National Farmers Union decided to reopen the livestock market.

The pub was immediately granted a special licence to stay open all day on a Monday. That was an historic day for Sevenoaks.

It is difficult to say which pub was the more popular with farmers, auctioneers and butchers, or among commuters who required an early evening drink.

However, both pubs were crammed to the rafters during the annual Fatstock Show.

I am informed that the pub closed in January 2006 and was demolished by March the same year.
