Well established by 1899, the hotel continued till the early 1960s when it closed and was converted into flats.

During the 38-45 war the hotel was used by the military and covered the rooms with graffiti.

Next door to the building the "Heron" was built in 1965 to replace the license and to serve the public with refreshment.
