Originally known as the "Harrow Hill Hotel," and can be traced back to the 17th century. Was once also operating as a forge and rest house for travellers on the nearby Pilgrims Way.

 

(Title Deeds U2004/T3).

There it says about the "Harrow" being in the ownership of the Rigden brewery in 1759:-

 

….and also All that Messuage Tenement or Cottage commonly called or known by the Name or Sign of the "Harrow" and the smithes fforge Buildings Barkside to Gardens Land or premises thereunto belonging with the Appurtanances situate lying and being atorncas a certain place called Warren Street in the Parish of Lenham in the said County of Kent and theretofore in the Tenure or occupation of John Taylor or the Assign late of Robert Smith and now of James Chapman his Assigns or undertenants’.
