Also known as the St. George's Cliff Hotel, but I don't know when the Cliff was added this also operated as a restaurant and was established by 1896. It became the "Hotel St George" by 1917 and the Cliff was again apparently removed if indeed this wasn't just a locals name. Peter Walker's Warrington Ales & Stout as seen in the 1898 picture was a very unusual and rare choice for an East Kent hotel in the late 19th century. Can you credit this image to Rory Kehoe c/o Tony Homersham please? It closed in 2003 and was demolished in 2006 to be replaced with a similar looking building. This was the Hotel that Peter Noone of Hermans Hermits ("Mrs Brown You've got a Lovely Daughter" and "No milk today") fame, bought for his parents to run.
