The building shown above dates from 1901 but the pub can be traced back
to 1891. It was still serving in the 1970, but is now (2015) operating as an
estate agents.

FETTLE, has appointed MR. AMNER, of the "Mechanics' Arms," Mile
Town, Sheerness as his sole Agent in Sheppey, for supplying the same
to the trade.
Ale-Spice 1s. per pint, 8s. per gallon. Fettle 1s. per pint, 8s. per
gallon. All Cordials—Mint, Shrub, Raspberry, Cloves, &c., 1s. per
pint. Dantzic Spruce, (pure quality), 5s. per gallon. Mixed Pickles
2s. 6d. per gallon. Vinegar 1s. or 1s. 6d. per gallon. Mustard 6d.
and 9d. per pound. Every Article in the Trade supplied.
