The better off artists performing in the town's theatres used to stay here before WW2. Beat group the Rebounds used to run the Rebounds Dance Club at the "Sea View Hotel" in 1962. Dances were held upstairs every Sunday evening and included other bands such as the Blackstars, the Cavaliers, Chaos and Co, the Cloverleaves, Count Zeppelin and the Bombers, the Cygnets, the Pathfinders, to name but a few, the most popular being the Discoteks, and also R & B for the Lower Third Contact, including the man who became David Bowie. Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated. I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from. All emails are answered.
