Licencing.

An application was made by Mr. Copeland of Sheerness, for the transfer of the licence of the "Sun," Sheerness, from Thomas Cook to William Charles Coke, now carrying on business at Penge.

Superintendent Mayne objected on the grounds that Mr. Coke had not yet taken possession.

The magistrate said they were satisfied as to Mr. Coke's respectability, but they should not allow the transfer till he was in possession.

The application, therefore stands adjourned.
