Petty sessions, Monday. (Before E. Twopeny, Esq., the Rev. G. B. Moore, and
Colonel J. D. Dyke).
Thomas Sattin was charged by William Crayden, of the “Post Boys”
public-house, Sittingbourne, with wilful damage and drunkenness, on the
17th inst. The defendant went to complainant’s house in a drunken state,
and asked for beer. Crayden refused to serve him, and he forthwith made
a disturbance, and threw a quart pot, containing beer at complainant’s
wife.
Committed for trial.

William Wright was charged with breaking two panes of glass doing damage
to the extent of 3s., the property of William Craydon at the "Post
Boys," Sittingbourne, on the 5th June.
Sentenced to seven days' hard labour.

Publican Fined.
At the petty sessions on Monday, William Brookes, landlord of the "Three
Post Boys," Sittingbourne, was summoned for permitting drunkenness on
licensed premises on December 14th.
Mr. A Booth Hearn (Chatham) appeared for the defendant.
The case arose out of a charge of drunkenness, which was dealt with at a
recent Court. The defendant denied the charge, but in the end the Bench
imposed the fine of £2 and costs. It was also announced that the
conviction would be recorded.
