Kentish Gazette, 19 May, 1779.

On Tuesday last, a Corporal of the the ?? Scotch, wrestling at the "Woolpack" on Heathfield Heath common with Thomas Flint, a farrier, Westwell, by some unfortunate blow which the Corporal received in a fall, he was killed on the spot.

The jury have sat on the body and brought in their verdict manslaughter.
