As far as I am aware there have been two public houses here. The latter one being built behind the original in the 1930s by Reffell's Brewery. The original was kept open till the new one was completed and then demolished.

I am informed (2015) that the pub is closed and has been transformed into a chemist's shop. I have also seen this addressed as in Orpington.

CHARGES AGAINST BEERHOUSE KEEPERS.

William Leach, beershop keeper, of the "Anglsea Arms," Orpington, was summoned by Sergeant Higgins, for allowing bagatelle playing in his house contrary to the statute. Defendant pleading ignorance and said he was willing to take out a license. Referring to the Act, the bench said that no beer-shop keeper was allowed of the privilege of a bagatelle license. The defendant was liable to a penalty of £10, but believing it was done in ignorance of the law, they would mitigate it to 6s, the costs being 8s. 6d.
