95 Cuxton Road Strood
The premises was described as a Beer House in the census of 1881 and the licensee described as a Labourer General. One time a Mason's tied house, but the brewery was bought out by Shepherd Neame in 1956 and the brewery was subsequently closed and demolished. Locally known as the "Corner Pin" supposedly due to a pin of ale which stood on the corner of the bar. This was mentioned as such in a book called the "History of Strood" by Henry Smetham, published 1899, but was still being referred to as such till at least 1946 and possibly till its closure in 2005.
