Clock House map

Above map 1890-1930, showing the location of the Clock House. Kindly supplied by Tony Nicholls of the 'Pembury History website.'

The building was constructed in the late 1950s or early 1960s, replacing the "Prince Arthur," addressed also at 205 Beckenham Road. This building was not quite over the same foundations as the old pub, but was built to the right of the "Prince Arthur" on the other side of the Churchfields Road.

The "Clock House" was named after a building of that name that had a large clock. The area was named after the pub. The pub was opened by Diana Doors.

I am informed that the pub closed in 2005 and the premises demolished and replaced by a block of flats. However, I believe this information actually relates to the location of the "Prince Arthur," as looking at the Google image, although the "Clock House" has been demolished the it is now a new part of the road, called Blandford Road.
