This pub was situated opposite the church in Horsham Lane until 1893, but changed location to the current building. In World War 1 it became the Royal navy Convalescent Home run by Miriam Hilton-Coulton and was later called the Miriam Convalescent Rooms. The building is was converted and is still (2016) being used as the local Co-op stores.
