Coopers Corner Ide Hill
The pub gained a Grade II listing on 16 January 1975. The pub was known until recently as the "Red Lion," but became a free house, with the new owner investing a great deal of money in the premises. He renamed the pub as a sign of good luck, for in the old days a frog found in a bucket of well water was an indication of its purity; frogs cannot live in contaminated water. The inn sign of 1987 depicts Kermit of Muppet fame, the most celebrated frog of the twentieth century.
