The pub closed around about 1873 and has since been demolished.

The area is now known as Prince Street.

 

From the Borough of Greenwich Free Press, 23 May 1863.

William Stoffell, Dock Street, Deptford, was charged with assaulting Mr. Lester, landlord of the "Lord Nelson."

The defendant, in answer to the charge, said that Mr. Lester was constantly annoying him, coming before his house, opening his door and crying "cock-a-doodle-do." (Laughter).

Mr. Maude ordered him to enter into his own recognizances, in the sum of £10.
