Now part of Greater London, this area was indeed Kent before 1965. Hence, I will be adding information regarding this pub as and when I find or it is sent to me, but at present I'll be concentrating on the areas that are within the Kent boundary today.

Robbery of Horses' Provender.

Thomas Gosstwel, a carman, in the employ of Messrs. Cockerell, coal-merchants, Blackfriars, and Charles Moss, ostler at the "New-cross Inn," Deptford, were charged on remand before Mr. Seeker, the former with stealing, and the latter with feloniously receiving a quantity of horses’ provender. The prisoners having been found guilty, Mr. Seeker ordered Moss to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for two months, and Goswell to pay a fine of £3 or to be imprisoned one mouth.
