According to the Lost Pubs Project the pub was addressed at 22 Creekside and has been demolished. If that is indeed the same pub.

Also addressed Sun Street in 1847, now known as Creekside.

Further research says it closed in 1915, but further licensee lists suggest it was still operating till as late as 1944+. It was certainly being considered for redundancy as reported in the Kentish Mercury of 1908.

Local knowledge required as usual.

GREENWICH POLICE COURT. Monday.

William Pribble, a powerfully-built man, by trade a boiler-maker, was brought up on a warrant before Mr. Seeker, charged with brutally beating William Goodwin, an old man upwards of 60 years of age, in the "Rising Sun," Pool's-buildings, Deptford.

It appeared that on the 25th of August last, the prisoner entered the above public-house, and, in a swaggering manner, said he was ready to fight anybody in the room. Upon which the complainant said they did not want any fighting there, and if he was so inclined he had better go to the lower end of Deptford. The prisoner replied that he would hare a fight with him, and immediately struck away at the old man, indicting a terrible gash on his eyebrow, and other injuries upon the face. The prisoner being one of the most desperate and notorious "roughs" in that locality, was not interfered with by the persons present, they recommending the sufferer to take the law on him. A summons, followed by a warrant for his apprehension was the result, when he was quietly taken by stratagem on Saturday night last. On the very many occasions which this prisoner has been before the court, it has always taken the united exertions of six or more constables to get him to the station. He has been once sent for trial for injuries inflicted on one of the police.

The prisoner, making no defence, was ordered to pay a penalty of 40s., or be imprisoned for one calendar month. He was looked up.
