DEPTFORD. - FATAL ACCIDENT.

On Friday, an inquest was held at the "Royal George," Tanner's Hill, Deptford, before Mr. C. J. Carttar, upon the body of Frederick Charles Ringston, aged sixteen months, who met his death by falling into a well, along with his sister, aged four years.

Rachael Coburn, a young woman residing adjacent to where the accident occurred, deposed that she saw them playing round the well, which is situate on an open piece of ground, when they both fell together, and rolled into the well, which had been left exposed upwards of twelve months. Police-constable 355A said that the proprietor of the premises had been warned by the police to enclose the spot, but not the slightest notice had been taken of the warning.

The jury expressed a strong feeling in the matter, and said that the parties ought to be immediately indicted.

Verdict, "Accidental death."
