The pub used to have accommodation above which ran as a separate business. After being closed for some time around 2012 the premises was used as a hostel but I believe it reopened as a public house in January 2017. The hostel business appears still to be running (2020).

Inquest on a Child.

An Inquest was held at the "Royal Standard" Tanner's-hill, Deptford, on Tuesday, before C. J. Carttar, Esq on the body of an infant four weeks old, the child of James and Elizabeth Taylor, Tanners-hill, who was discovered to be dead in its mother's arms in the Broadly, Deptford, on Monday night.

A verdict of "Accidentally suffocated" was returned.
