162 Ramsgate Road Margate
Originally known as the "Hope and Anchor" the building was erected in 1951. In 1983 the interior was restyled on an open lounge model and the off-license removed and it was renamed the "Thomas Telford" after the Scottish civil engineer who had worked on the drainage system in Ramsgate. The pub again changed name to "Lester's" some time in the late 80s or early 90s to commemorate the jockey, Lester Piggett.
