The pub closed in 1983 and has been converted into flats.

I believe that the premises was also operating under the name of "Madhouse" for a while, although that may just have been the locals name in the 1980s. No wonder it closed with a name like that.

Also addressed as Flagon Road in 1847.

 

Thomas Charles Entecott of the "United Friends" beerhouse, Wellington Street, died 25 May 1900. Probate London, 23 June to Frederick David Endecott, timber merchant and Emma Hopkins widow. Effects 3,339 11s 6d.
