Also addressed as Flagon Road in 1847.

The pub closed in 1983 and has been converted into flats.

I believe that the premises was also operating under the name of "Madhouse" for a while, although that may just have been the locals name in the 1980s. No wonder it closed with a name like that.

Wayne Campbell writes to tell me that the premises may have closed for a short while, but in December 1989 reopened as "McMillans," and it was this that close around the millennium to be turned into flats.

Further research tells me that after "McMillans" it went under the name of "Farragos" but no further details are as yet known.

Thomas Charles Entecott of the "United Friends" beerhouse, Wellington Street, died 25 May 1900. Probate London, 23 June to Frederick David Endecott, timber merchant and Emma Hopkins widow. Effects £3,339 11s 6d.
