Mother who sparked mass pub brawl at the Campbell Arms in Gravesend avoids jail.

A MOTHER who dragged a Gravesend landlady to the floor, kicked the woman's granddaughter in the face and assaulted two police officers during a night out has avoided jail.

Larisa Wild was with her boyfriend Stephen Coyne and brother Derek Wild when the brawl broke out in the Campbell Arms in Gravesend on June 15.

Brawlers

Appearing at Dartford Magistrates' Court today, the 26-year-old, of Albion Road, Gravesend, pleaded guilty to assaulting two police officers and the pub's landlady and granddaughter.

Matthew Quantrill, prosecuting, told the court: "The landlady Christine Jefferies was giving a handbag she thought belonged to Larisa Wild and as she was handing it over Mrs Wild shouted ‘my phone better be there, I'll do you".

"She then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the floor."

Mrs Jefferies' granddaughter Amber Holdaway, who was working behind the bar, rushed over to help. She screamed "get off her" but Larisa Wild then grabbed her hair and pulled her to the floor before kicking her in the face, the court heard.

This sparked a mass brawl as Wild's boyfriend and her brother tried to break up the fight.

Police were called to reports of a large disturbance at the pub at 10.22pm and Larisa Wild became abusive to officers.

As she was being detained, the carer kicked PC Lewis-Perkins in the face and PC Davies in the crotch.

A statement from Mrs Jefferies read out in court: “I was shocked, saddened and petrified. I had never been attacked like this before.”

The court heard how Wild's brother ran straight at PC Lewis-Perkins before being arrested and later telling him "you're a f****** c***, I will cut you open".

The 22-year-old, of Pelham Road, Gravesend, was arrested at the scene and this morning pleaded guilty to threatening the officer.

Coyne, 24, of Portland Road, Gravesend, was also taken into custody after the builder assaulted PC O'Connor as he tried to help Larisa Wild.

He pleaded guilty to the offence.

Larisa Wild was sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work, fined £400 and ordered to pay costs of £145, which she will pay off £5 a week.

Coyne was ordered to do 80 hours of unpaid work and pay a £100 fine and costs of £145.

Derek Wild was given 60 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay costs of £145.

All three were given one-year banning orders from the Campbell Arms.

The court heard how Larisa Wild, who has a six-year-old daughter, went out for a drink to cheer herself up after being told she would need IVF treatment to have more children.

Sarah Williams, mitigating, said: “She (Larisa) can't understand how she got into such a state. She can't remember much.

“Her last recollection was having a drink in the beer garden and next thing she remembers is waking up in the cells.

“She may have had her drink spiked with alcohol or drugs.

“This was completely against her nature.”
