According to the pictures above, the pub has had its name shortened slightly, and is now referred to as simply the "City."

The original building can be traced back to 1839, but the one we see there today was a new build after the old building was destroyed by a fire in 1893.

Unfortunately the pub closed its doors in 2002 and was converted into a bed and breakfast establishment. So, at least still serving the public is board and lodgings.
