The pub, at one time has also been referred to as "Dirty Dick's," but I don't know whether this was official or just local.

Sudden Death Of A Little Girl.

On Wednesday, the daughter, aged five years, of Mr. John Allen, 8, William-street, Woolwich, died suddenly after a few hours' complaining. A post mortem examination was afterwards made, and an inquest held on the body on Saturday, at the "Duke of Wellington," Lower Market-street, Woolwich, when a verdict of "Died from natural causes" was returned.
