CARS IN COLLISION.

Two cars collided at the bottom of the hill at Henley, Wells, on Tuesday afternoon, and were both badly damaged. The only personal injury was sustained by Mrs. Knapp, "Essex Arms," Plumstead, who received an injury to her wrist. Mr. Knapp, her son, was the driver of the car in which she was riding, and the occupants of the other vehicle were from Dorchester. The two cars were interlocked and difficulty was experienced in removing them. One was taken to Portway Garage for repair and the other to Gunnings Garages.

I have just Started to map out the pubs that exist or existed in Plumstead, but need local knowledge and photographs, old and current if you have any.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation. Every email is answered and all information referenced to the supplier.

William Smart was the last licensee at the Courage owned pub and previously used to own and run the barbers shop next door at number 51.

On closure around 1964, the pub and part of the road was demolished to make way for the dual carriageway.
