80½ High Street Gravesend
This pub has been recorded as being in the High Street, situated at the end of a narrow passageway. I am informed that there is still a narrow passage way called Hole in the Wall Alley" that leads from the High Street to Princess Street which would of been Church Street back then. I am not sure if the passage way led all the way through to the pub back then or maybe led to a courtyard.
It appears that in November 1846 the pub was seriously damaged in a fire if not totally destroyed. (Details here.) After its closure the license was transferred to the "Albion Ale Shades" in 1910.
