The "Marker's Retreat" was demolished some time after its closure and is now the site of Gravesend Churches Housing.

From an email received 11 february 2016.

My wife was born in this pub in February 1962, the doctor had to battle severe snow according to family legend, her father was Edward (Ted) Hodder, who went on to run a pub in Northumberland Heath as a tenant, not sure if he managed or rented but apparently also did a milk round whilst running the Marker Retreat.

Barbara Barnes.
