The building may have stated its life as a mediaeval hall house. In the 17th century the building was called Orange Tree Farm. By 1832 it had become a pub and in 1894 owned by the Dartford Brewery Company.

Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.
