244 High Street (Plumstead Road 1851) (In the village 1866) Plumstead
The above paintings by J T Wilson have been named the "Prince of Orange" on the web site https://www.mutualart.com however, they look to be different buildings to me. The top one definitely says "Prince of Orange" on the sign on the top of the roof, but I am as yet unable to see any reference to that name on the lower painting.
I am informed the pub has now changed name to the "Electric Orange". To date I am not sure when this happened.
Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history. As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here. Thanks for your co-operation.
