A pub used to sit on the same site as this prior to 1886 when this one was built. The original was operating as a beer house and called the "Duchess of Kent."

This pub has also been demolished. (Information 2016)

Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.
