Lloyd's Weekly Newspaper 22 November 1846.

CHANGE RINGING.

On Sunday, at the house of Mr. Birchard, "Spotted Cow," Lewisham, six members of the society of Lewisham Youths, rang 5,088 changes of Kent Treble Bob Maximus, in three hours and ten minutes. Performed by Joseph Tapp, 1, 2; George Fishenden, 3, 4; William Shade, 5, 6; John Hartley, 7, 8; Jesse Town, 9, 10; William Robinson, 11, 12. Conducted by J. Tapp. This was the same peal as was conducted by Mr. J. Cox, at St. Saviours, Southwark, which caused a great sensation in consequence of it being the first peal of Kent Treble Bob Maximus ever rang in London.
