I have reference to this pub and a note that says it may also have been the "Bell and Green Dragon." Also, I have a note that says in 1727 it had connections with the Beckett's and Wood's Brewery.

Caution to Beer Sellers.

Francis Brown, keeper of the "Star and Garter" beer house, New Road, was summoned for keeping his house open at 11:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police Sergeant Janye proved the case, and the defendant was ordered to pay a fine of 1s. and 6s. 6d. costs.
