Blue Anchor 2007

Above photo 2007 by Nick Smith Creative Commons Licence.

Built in 1786, this gained its license as a public house in 1815. It became the "Blue Anchor" at the turn of the century when Thomas Howland, a rope and sail maker took over.

I am informed by Bob Martin that in 2015 the pub was trading as a free house.

Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

All emails are answered.
