Ind Coope & Co Ltd purchased the pub from Budden & Biggs Brewery Ltd by conveyance and assignment dated 23 March 1931. The pub held a full license. At the same time they also purchased an unlicensed shop at 18 Victoria Street and a dwelling house at 20a Victoria Street.

I also have reference and a photo regarding this operating under the name of the "Victorian," but have no dates as yet.

Closed some time between 1940 and 1978. Today (2020) it is operating as a naming company.

From the Southeastern Gazette, 12 June 1866.

CITY PETTY SESSIONS. Tuesday.

An application was made by Mr. R. Prall, jun., on the part of Mr. Tremain for the transfer of the license of the “City Arms” public-house, Rochester-bridge to the new premises erected by Messrs. Foord and Sons, in Victoria-place, the former house having been pulled down to widen the approaches to Rochester-bridge.

After some questions had been raised by Mr. Furrell, the magistrates unanimously granted the application.
