This pub can be traced back to 1706 when it was called the "King's Head" but it changed name in 1715 to the "Plough and Horseshoes" and again in 1735 to the name we see today.

Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

Friday.— (Before the Rev. G. Davies and T. H. Day and W. Gladdish, Esqrs).

William Crowhurst, of Meopham, grocer, was convicted in a penalty of £1 and 19s. 6d. costs, for having an unjust weight upon his premises.

Sarah Baker, of Bush, grocer and baker, for having fifteen short weights and an unjust weighing machine in her possession, was fined £2 and 17s. fid. costs.

Richard Waterman, landlord of the "Cock" public-house, Luddesdown, was convicted in a penalty of £1 and 18s. 6d. costs, for having six deficient quart measures upon his premises.
