Cannon Lane Wateringbury
The Fir Tree stood at the top of Cannon Lane until 1938/9 when it was demolished to make way for a larger West Malling Aerodrome. It was known as an Ale House and run by Edward & Gladys Kirby. Local knowledge from Dail Whiting says the following:- A Beerhouse. Once stood at the Northern Extremity of Canon Lane Wateringbury, known as Canon Heath. Was already trading in the latter half of the 19th century. It was pulled down in 1939 when West Malling aerodrome was extended.
