1 Fullalove Alley / 1-3 Batchellor Street Chatham 01634 401877 https://whatpub.com/jolly-caulkers
The Licensing Records of 1872 stated that the premises operated under a Beer License and was owned by Mary Ann Clift of 6 Lester Place, New Road, Chatham. By 1938 the address seems to have changed to 1 Batchelor Street, so perhaps the gentlemen who did whatever round the back of Fullalove Alley, didn't quite appeal to the ladies.
The "Jolly Caulkers" celebrates those sturdy fellows who pressed oakum into the seams of a wooden vessel to make it watertight.
This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014." I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from. All emails are answered.
