Maidstone Road Inn

Latest 1853-

(Name to)

Brenchley

The train station at Paddock Wood opened on 31 August 1842 and the station was originally called "Maidstone Road." Paddock Wood developed around this area and the station was renamed "Paddock Wood" on 25 September 1844.

The "Maidstone Road Inn," it is suggested changed name to the "Railway Hotel," but it is unknown when this took place, but it is likely that it was built around this period. I have seen reference to a "Railway Hotel" as early as 1853.
