In the period from about 1900 to 1920, the Swan was a far-flung outpost for Obadiah Edwards' Vine Brewery, Tenterden, which would have been a round trip of about 19 miles to deliver beer and collect empties.

I am informed that in 2018 it was operating as Mary Hemsley, Interior Design.

Kentish Gazette, 4 November 1851.
