Originally called the "Anglo Saxon" and can be traced back to the 1870s, the pub changed name some time in the 1990s.

Will Adams was born in Gillingham on 24 September 1564, he was  an English navigator who was the first Englishman to reach Japan in 1600 and was one of  a few survivors of the only Dutch East India Company ship to reach Japan from a five-ship expedition of 1598, Adams settled there and became the first ever Western Samurai. he died at the age of 55 on the 16 May 1620.

This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014."

As such I have found a picture of the pub, but to date have no other information. Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.
