CENSUS 1851Census

RICKEN William, Stone Pound, age 28, Inn Keeper.

Globe 19 March 1818.

CROWN SIDE, BRIGHTON.

William Kemp, Isaac Kemp, and John Company, were indicted for a burglary in the dwelling-house of William Elliott, a shoemaker, at Ticehurst, in the night of the 12th of December, and stealing therefrom 16 pairs of half-boots and a quantity of shoes.

The robbery was discovered in consequence of the prisoner, Isaac Kemp, putting up to raffle a pair of half-boots at a public-house in the parish of Goudhurst. This produced further inquiry -- all the Prisoners were apprehended, and the remainder of the property found in their possession.

The evidence was rather defective as to Wm. Kemp's guilt, but the other Prisoners were both found Guilty.

Death.
