"WINGHAM. Petty Sessions.
These sessions were held at the usual place on Thursday last, but
there was very little business for disposal.
Thos. Kember, a publican of Northbourne, was charged with having
assaulted Geo. Rye, a fisherman of Sandwich, on the 5th of July. It
seemed that the complainant had been lodging at the defendant’s
house, and a dispute arose as to the removal of his things, when the
assault was committed.
Defendant was fined 5s. and the costs.
