Kentish Gazette, 28 December 1852.
Re Barton. Sutton Valence.
This was a meeting for the last examination of the bankrupt, James
Barton, of Sutton Valence, brewer.
Messrs. Church and Co., agent for Messrs. Hart and Kipping,
solicitors, of Maidstone, appeared for the trade assignee, Mr.
John Boucher, of East Sutton, maltster.
The bankrupt's debts are only about £400, and the assets consist of
good debts £50; doubtful, £70; and property, about
£150. It appeared that the bankrupt had not completed his
balance-sheet in sufficient time to file the same, and the Court
accordingly adjourned his examination until the 4th of February
next, and granted him renewed protection in the meantime.
