I am informed that this one was situated at 41 Ness Road just on the corner with Harden Road by the roundabout.

Owned by Finn's Brewery the premises closed due to the Compensation  Act in 1921, but the building was destroyed in 1944 by a Flying Bomb, probably the same one that also destroyed the granary in Manor Road

MORE EAST KENT LICENSES TO BE EXTINGUISHED.

COMPENSATION AUTHORITY GRANT ONE RENEWAL AND REFUSE SIX.

Lord Harris presided, on Saturday, at the Sessions House, Longport, Canterbury, over the "Principal" meeting of the East Kent Compensation Authority, the other members of the Committee present being Messrs. W. A. Lochee, C. J. Burgess, Alec Baird, G. F. Raggett, H. H. Green, and A. G. Iggulden.

The following houses came before the Committee for consideration:-

Borough of Lydd:- "First and Last," Ness Lane, Lydd; licensee Horace Weaver; registered owners, E. Finn and Sons, Ltd., Lydd.

In the case of the "First and Last," Lydd, the owners did not raise any objection, but in all the other houses the parties concerned applied to the Committee for renewal of the license.

After hearing at length arguments by counsel for the retention of these houses the Committee decided that the whole of them must go for compensation.
