The only reference I have found so far for this pub is in the Pigot's Directory of 1828.

I have reference to a "Half Moon" in Tudeley. This may be the same pub. I also have reference to a "Half Moon Inn" addressed in the London Road of Tonbridge.

South Eastern Gazette, 3 January, 1860.

Petty Sessions, Wednesday.

(Before H. T. More, Esq., and Major Scoons.)

Henry Jenner was charged with embezzling ten pence, the money of his master, Mr. Matthew Eason, of the "Old Half Moon Inn," Tunbridge, on the 29th inst.

It appeared that the prisoner was employed by the prosecutor and part of his duty was to weigh out coals, the money for which he was expected to pay over at once. Having suspicions of his honesty, he was watched, and on the day in question, after selling some coals, he paid 10d only, the price of a half cwt, whereas he had sold a cwt. On being spoken to he said it was a mistake and paid the remaining money. Under these circumstances the case was dismissed, but the prisoner was strongly cautioned as to his future conduct.

South Eastern Gazette, 17 April, 1860.

Petty Sessions, Wednesday. (Before H. T. Moore, Esq,, chairman, Major Scoones, Arthur Pott, Esq., and C. Powell, Esq., who took his seat on the bench for the first time).

The constables were sworn in and the surveyor’s accounts, produced and verified.

The license of the "Half Moon," Tonbridge, was transferred from Richard Bennett to Thomas Street.
